Approach

Materials already bring
their own energy.

Grain, colour, texture and variation give natural materials a character of their own. The role of design is not to overpower them, but to give them structure, proportion and enough space to be felt.

01

Material first

Let timber, stone and finish influence the direction rather than treating them as decoration.

02

Detail carries the idea

Edges, joins, transitions and proportions determine how resolved a space feels.

03

Warmth over excess

Use colour and form deliberately. Leave enough space for the material and the room to breathe.
